Two shops, house of ‘Army informer’ damaged in Shopian village | KNO

Unknown persons Tuesday set ablaze two shops and damaged the residential house of of Kifayat Mir, in Shopian village whose “confessional video” of “informing army” about militants went viral in the month of April this year. The incident took place at Molu Chitragam village of Shopian.

Four militants and two civilians were killed in a shootout at Pahnoo village of Shopian on April 15. Some days after the killings, a video clip of Kifayat Mir, son of Bashir Ahmad Mir went viral in which he was apparently being interrogated by the militants and he was making confessions about his involvement in informing the army about the presence of militants.

He was shot in his foot by militants and was injured. Local sources said that the family of Kifayat had left the area soon after the incident fearing public wrath after their house was stoned several times. They said today unknown persons came and set two shops of Mir ablaze and also damaged their residential house.
